How did China beat us to this? Come on Boone!! We want to support you!!!

NEW YORK - China took a big leap into the U.S. renewable energy market Thursday, putting up $1.5 billion for a 36,000-acre wind farm in Texas with the power to light up 180,000 homes.

The project is a joint venture with U.S. Renewable Energy Group, a private equity firm, Austin, Texas-based Cielo Wind Power LP and Shenyang Power Group of China.

The announcement Thursday shows how much China's own wind industry has burgeoned and comes two days after U.S. Energy Secretary Steven Chu told lawmakers that the U.S. was falling behind China and others in alternative energy investment.

This came my way; Pretty much say's it all!
We're behind because there is no significant support for alternative energy (except real losing ideas) from the government while the banks and brokerage houses are not rewarded for capital investment, but for gambling with the Fed's zero-interest money in foreign markets. You'd be stunned to know that the Chinese are probably being financed with Goldman Sachs money borrowed from the Fed.

Two days ago the IMF (which is heavily financed by the US) sold half of its gold - like 200 tons - to India. We can expect that the other half will be sold to China to take all those USDs out of circulation. Looks as if international banks are getting out of conventional banking.

China does not need to borrow American money. They produce goods which they can trade for anything they want.

We have to invent the things that poor Chinese can afford, improve the environment, and cost little or nothing to operate forever. The kind of stuff that we could also use. Then we build some factories over there so that we can use their labour and collect royalties and profits and ship the stuff home real cheap.

Actually this is what we are already doing. So what is the problem other than a few Americans get rich and the rest get screwed.

I think Lou is very close to correct. The truth is a rare commodity in resent years. What are the implications of The IMF = international monetary fund selling their gold to India and China? Are they doing this to prevent the USA dollar from declining in purchasing power? I presume India paid for the gold with USA dollars? Neil
