Alternative energy production is a wide scope, covers many areas, has many models. Perhaps you need to focus on a specific model. Personally, back in the 70's, I worked on a multi-million dollar alternative energy model in Tennessee that obviously went South. Quite obvious to the Members of State. At that time another model was being tested, "gas-a-hol". That even went South more quickly. Again, quite obvious to the Members of State. Here in North Carolina, the wife of a politician is running a bio-fuels gin mill, using corn grown by the local farmers. To date, she back owes the farmers nearly a quarter million dollars. Me thinks that alternative energy production model is headed South as well.

The Pickens model here is to put a few billion in THEIR pockets. I understand that that works very well regardless if a single watt is alternatively generated or not.

If YOU are REALLY interested in ALTERNATIVE ENERGY PRODUCTION, my advice is to "Do it". You'll have a lot more fun! You'll actually achieve something in a timely fashion. Is it easy? Hell no. You might even fail. But success can be the end result of multiple failures.

Now that is a GOOD model.

if i were to approach my local.state, elected officials about advantages of alternative energy production is there a model to point them too which could be adopted by the state of tennessee instead of trying to reinvent a process which has already proven in other states. if you could link me with this type of information i would like to at least send it to my state rep, and state senator in the state house divisions.

Looking for source of 5watt and 10watt panels.

It's amazing that China is dumping panels at <$1.80/Watt. Not the cheap thin film crap either, but 5" mono-crystalline wafers. Of course my quote is about 3 weeks old, so the price might even be lower today.
