Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
As a Real Estate Broker I have been asked by a lot of clients to help them find energy efficient/alternative fueled homes. Right now it is still cost prohibitive. I personally built a home with many enery upgrades, but my dream of living off the grid was also cost prohibitive. I have recently become an Independent Ecopreneur for a company that will revolutionize the solar industry allowing homeowners to rent their equipment with no upfront costs and lock in their current rate for up to 25 years! This will help bring clean energy to the masses. Please check out www.JoinTheSolution.com/crisley for information on how you can become involved.
What excites you about this campaign?
We all have to take control of our personal energy usage and as a country we have to come up with sustainable alternatives that are clean and affordable to the masses. This is a step in the right direction. Boone has been able to get us all together and in a productive way get the word out! He has given us the tools to make Washington stand up and FINALLY take notice!
What do you want to do to help?
Spread the word!

I applaud you for the direction you have taken. Yet as you said you want to live OFF the grid. Right now Florida Utilities are in the process of lobbying for a virtual exclusivity of power generation to insure their future income. Yes they have had focus groups asking them if the participants would be willing to receive a couple extra dollars a month for the priviledge of securing an easement upon their homes roof to place solar collectors, that they still will be charging the customer for the electricity generated thereon. The question is rental by continuing to pay exhorbitant utility bills like the rates presently imposed upon customers or ownership where you generally don't pay them a farthing. As a solar sales manager for a local construction company, there is alot you can do to bring people into the alternative energy fold, just through your everyday contacts and relating the energy players motives like the utilities. It is when we expose their true nature that we recognize we must act while we can. Come join the Online Think Tank here on Pickens if you'd like.

Hi Caren
Glad to have you here. Thank you for your offer of meaningful support for this historical effort! Need folks to help push pledges, and Pickens U. Look forward to hearing from you. 400,000 is not 1 million! Can you get some pledges signed?
Thanks again for posting the jointhesolutions.com link at PICKens Me! Jobs! ~ greatly appreciated.
The concept of ecopreneur is excellent and 'catchy' in name ~ one of the greatest obstacle to growing RE/AE beyond education is affordability. Have you considered reaching out to the CTN Green publication to possibly contribute an article/material?
Thank you for your well wishes. Every day gets better and better.

ORE PLEDGES, MORE PRESSURE!
Help me raise the numbers!
Need your help.
I know that we are friends, and you get email updates from me, however, I think this is so important, I am reaching out one at a time.
I AM CREATING A "100CLUB"... members that have faxed in 100 or more signed pledges. So many thousands of people signed onto this site and said they would do anything or everything to help. Here is your chance!
We have the mechanism to build our numbers, we need to use it. It is the easiest ask- Boone has done the hard work. All we need to do is hitch our wagon to his horse and plow to the finish. I have sent in 240 so far.
It comes down to.... DO WE HAVE THE FORTITUDE to really go the distance on this? . I hope so. We aren't asking folks to take up arms. But this IS OUR REVOLUTION. And we have a very small window to get it done. I would like your help.
Glad you are here. Are you able to help us fight for this? Are you in?
Best,
Kim
Just 10 a day for 10 days! For our energy future, isn't it worth it?

I am also waiting for tools to help us define our efforts :
1. the list of who has signed the PLEDGE and who has NOT- Governors and Legislators.
2. counter/tickers on the site of how many emails have been sent to Congress.
3. counter/ticker of how many PLEDGES have been signed by citizens.
Glad you are here. Are you in?

I invite everyone to take a look at www.jointhesolution.com/crisley This is a very forward-thinking additional solution to our energy/climate crisis. It allows you to rent solar equipment with no upfront cost, just a small deposit, AND lock in your energy costs for up to 25 years, not to mention using clean solar instead of a dirt alternative! Please check it out.
Mel just doesn't get it. This goes against everything we are fighting for. Drilling is not the answer.
MARTINEZ: “GANG OF 10” PROPOSAL IS WRONG FOR U.S.
September 12, 2008 - WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Mel Martinez (R-FL) today issued the following statement regarding the pending “Gang of 10” proposal that is expected to be brought up for consideration next week during the Senate’s debate on overhauling U.S. energy policy.
Senator Martinez said:
“I am for more domestic exploration. We need to drill for oil in ANWR and the OCS. We need to start taking advantage of the vast supplies of oil shale in the West. We need to do all of these things in conjunction with conservation and developing alternative energy supplies like nuclear, clean coal, bio fuels, and renewable resources.
“The ‘Gang of 10’ as it has been presented falls far short of meeting our nation’s energy needs and instead threatens to raise the price of fuel at a time when Americans are already paying record high prices. Worse yet, the proposal blocks states like Florida from determining their own fate as exploration is concerned. Florida in particular is harmed by this proposal because it walls off production except for in the most sensitive environmental and military training areas.
“The time for patchwork solutions is past. The time for political posturing is over. The American people are overwhelmed with the prices at the pump and they demand a comprehensive solution. The best alternative on the table right now is S. 3202, the Gas Price Reduction Act. S. 3202 is a balanced approach that will help lower fuel costs in the near term and give America the energy independence it needs.”
