Hi Gary,

Her's my proof, Find a member in mariposa, Jim Fish, look at his page. Look at the first people to greet him; Windpower7 & the Energy Party. Some greeting huh?
Richard.

Hi Gary--

I will be happy to speak with you. My cell is (559)259-9032 (AT&T), and is the best number to use to reach me. Call me after 4pm and before 10pm, if you can.

Hi Gary,

I don't know how many of you have been troubled by a certain Pickens Plan member, Windenergy7, a salesman who greets new members with a sales pitch usually before we, or an official Pickens Plan greeter can welcome them into the Pickens Plan Army

If you’ve encountered this “person” or have heard complaints of such ilk, please raise your complaints to all Regional Leaders as this “shyster” is playing havoc in my group and very few of the new people he greets first will join our group!

Thank You,
Richard Wickberg

Hey, CA-19 crew--

If you've had a chance to look at the map for California Congressional District 19, you probably realized (after you stopped laughing) that we are a pretty oddly-shapped gerrymandered paper shadow puppet. We are also quite spread out, from Fresno to Modesto, with rugged Sierra peaks and foothills in between. We are going to need local organizers to the north & south of this district. Any takers?

Hey, if you start doing a really good job in your area, maybe we award the whole CA-19 District Leader shooting match over to you. I'm certainly off to a slow start! (But -- fair warning -- I sometimes accelerate fast. I've been digging out from an avalanche of work & personal demands on time since Xmas.)

These text threads are great (even if I am still learning how to use them), but sometimes there is no substitute for discussing things on the phone or meeting in person. Let's network ideas and projects!

Please give me a call, at any hour. I turn my cell phone off when I'm sleeping. Verizon provides it with a voice mail system that sometimes functions.

Let's network!

Radanovich strictly spouts Party Leadership line--will not give a straight answer on moving energy issues forward. We need to launch a barrage of email and telegrams to his office from members--copying party leaders in both houses.

Profile Information

Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
None, really, although I have a good background in physics & mathematics, with a MS in Computer Science. I have a smattering of electrical engineering courses, and broad (but shallow) knowledge of most of the physical sciences.
In my home area area, I am closely associated with folks who sell solar power systems in Mariposa. I am also on the board of directors for MERG (Mariposans for the Environment and Responsible Government).
What excites you about this campaign?
(1) The T. Boone Pickens ads have been a breath of fresh air of straight talk and simple logic. When Mr. Pickens said, "This is one problem we can't drill our way out of," it knocked the props out from underneath the most intransigent opponents to alternative energies.

(2) You are basically non-partisan. I like that. You applaud competence and good plans no matter which part of the political spectrum proposes them.

(3) You have a plan.

(4) You are not just talking, you are acting.
What do you want to do to help?
Organize people in the Mariposa County area (a part of Congressional District CA 19 -- most of Yosemite Park is in our county). Our main goals would be:

(1) Help carry out the Pickens Plan in general

(2) Promote the parts of the Pickens Plan that would be the most applicable to our area.

Op-Ed / LTE Challenge from our Regional Leader, Micah Lauer

You may have seen Micah Lauer's challenge elsewhere, but it is definitely worth repeating! One good Op-Ed (Opinion - Editorial) article or LTE (Letter to the Editor) published in your local newspaper or other public watering hole may be worth a 1000 private emails.

Micah Lauer, my regional Leader (and yours), has thrown down a challenge to us all. [BELOW] Let's see if we can pick it up and run with it. Please contact me for details or to kick around some ideas together.

I would like to extend a challenge!

There has been some great activity in our region with regard to letter to the editor and op-ed writing. Letters to the editor/op-eds have been published by Richard Wickberg (WA-05), Larry Sigurdson (OR-05), Phil Carver (OR-05) - upcoming article in a Feb. publication, John Cogar (OR-02), Jerry McDonald (MT-01), Ryan Jones (ID-02) - featured in an article locally and in the Wall Street Journal, Jim McCue (ID-01), and Gary Walker (CA-19). Way to go!

Several other district leaders have submitted letters to the editor. We're just waiting for them to be published. Another big thanks goes out to Grant Schott (OR-04) and Karen Ferguson (WA-03) for submitting letters to the editor.

I sure hope I didn't miss your letter. If so, please let me know ASAP!

CALL TO ACTION - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR AND OP-EDS

Let's be the first region of Pickens Plan district leaders to get a letter to the editor or op-ed published in EVERY district!

So far, we have LTE/op-ed published in 7 of 39 districts. With a little push, I am confident we can get a letter to the editor (or more) published in EVERY district in the next week.

If you have not yet submitted a letter to the editor or an op-ed, I am asking for your help. Attached to this email are some guidelines and suggestions for letters to the editor and op-eds. Writing a letter to the editor or op-ed is a simple task with a big pay-off. A letter that takes 10-20 minutes to write can be viewed by thousands of potential Pickens Plan supporters when published. I am more than happy to help edit/review letters if you would like.

In your letter, be sure to include a link to the push.pickensplan.com site and even a link to your district group.

When you submit a letter, please let me know:

where it was submitted

send a copy of the text
When you get a letter to the editor published, please let me know:

publication date
link to online copy (if available)
send a copy of the text (if you haven't sent it already)
Also, this is a great challenge to post on your district groups. Let's see how many letters we can get published!

Thanks again,
Micah
