Profile Information

Are you interested in becoming an organizer in your area?
Yes
Tell us about your experience with alternative energy:
I am an US Citizen and a developer of clean energy technology and its application(s) for industry: see www.vocgen.com to read about the most energy efficient and cost- saving generation technology innovated for industry.
What excites you about this campaign?
I am excited about the campaign because it motivates US Citizens to become involved in ways to be more energy efficient and independent using solar, wind and natural gas sources found here at home.

I am excited about the PickensPlan campaign because it facilitates collaboration between Citizens and energy leaders to organize the Nation to utilize alternative and domestic energy sources and alternative energy technologies for the improvement of the economy, for the security of the Nation and the improvement of the environment.
What do you want to do to help?
The National Clean Energy Project Summit conducted on February 23, 2009 was outstanding because it gave focus to the challenges of building a new energy grid. And T. Boone was there!

Energy Secretary Steven Chu (who won the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1997) talked about the technical issues which attend to building a 21st century grid. Renewable resources are transient. When we are getting less than 3 percent of our power from renewables the up-and-down nature of renewable production is not that important. But as renewable energy becomes a large and larger percentage of our energy usage we have to think about new storage technology to store the energy from wind and solar farms which will not be immediately used.

Wind has many challenges including proving to be profitable and not forever subsidized by taxation to make it affordable. Energy efficiency and energy efficient generation was identified as the most immediate beneficial course of action. Powering 18-wheelers with natural gas is also a winner.

Climate Change Panic Attack Not a Reason for Legislation

My energy business stands to benefit significantly from "climate change" legislation such as Cap and Trade, but I am compelled to seek truth before personal interest. In my research over the years, I have found no evidence that climate change is the result of man's contribution of carbon dioxide or other gases. In fact, man’s contribution of “global warming gases” is minuscule compared to contributions from natural sources such as swamps and volcanoes. Geologists have established that ice size a… Continue

Continue to Support the Plan

Just a few thoughts:
The Pickens Plan wind energy component has been eliminated based on economic realities. Fortunately, the natural gas component is still alive and viable.
In the US, small-scale wind power generation can be integrated into the grid without upsetting grid dynamics/balance, but large-scale wind generation requires energy storage and/or demand response capacity, creating a total system configuration and cost that is not economically sustainable at this time.
For natural gas ther… Continue

Steven,
Thank you for your respectful reply to the article about Tar Sands. I believe that we need to be cautious in these ventures, and protect the environment as a first priority. As you said, make sure the EPA is doing it's due diligence, and monitoring the levels of pollutants being released after treatment. I like the work that VOCGEN is doing to capture energy from VOC's that would otherwise be released into the atmosphere. There are many opportunities to create energy from wastes created by our industries and our current lifestyle of use and disposal. Reduce, reuse, recycle, and repower.

I too am in a business that will profit from the current climate hysteria. But as a retired NASA scientist I must agree with you. If science has no integrity it has no value at all. My company provides analysis of renewable energy resources such as wind, solar, and deep ocean thermal recovery. It would be easy to get on the band wagon of the climate mongers but at my age I am more inclined to side with objectivity. I would rather that my efforts be successful because they make a real contribution than because I was part of a successful scam.

Thanks Steve ..
for your welcome note and comments .. much appreciated : )...
I agree .. T. Boone Pickens plan is not the only plan, group or association striving for freedom. VocGen is achieving and accomplishing many goals and issues as a Leader in the industry .. Kudos' to VocGen & Company as with many others. My statement was on Mr. Pickens as the Only Leader .. in meaning .. as I have noticed .. as one being in the "SpotLight" pushing this agenda to the fullest with all his power to do so.
Although .. it takes a team to win the game .. our team mates that are in the game to win .. are the one's leading the cause .. From reading about you .. I noticed that your passion and drive of this worthy cause for our planet, is unsurpassed .. as well as many of our family and friends involved in Leading out in securing of our freedom and self preservation in this world.
Blogs and information that you share with us has been and Is .. Great content ..
Thank You ..

Steven--thanks for the copy of the article. Make sure that your elected officials are hearing your voice too. Send a letter our Arizona Congressional Representatives. So far only Shadegg and Franks are on board. We need them all supporting the legislation. Keep me posted on your activities so I can report up to headquarters!

Will reply in your post to me on Pickens Plan site. Very enjoyable read. I like seeing people reference economic viability in their approach to energy independence. I firmly believe in the free market, capitalist system, and all solutions should be market driven to the extent possible. Tax credits and incentives are acceptable, but the technology must be economically viable in operation. Thanks and best wishes!

Hi Steve--Thanks for your comments online. Arizona so far has been doing pretty well in relation to legislative support but we need to do more to ensure legislation is passed. Please contact me so I can talk to you about writing a Letter to the Editor or Opinion Editorial to your local paper. Thank you for your support and I look forward to speaking with you!
